BOCA Group seeks an experienced Elevator Inspector to perform evaluations, inspections, and documentation, ensuring conformance with national and local codes. The role requires strong communication with owners, building staff, and contractors, plus thorough reporting of deficiencies and recommended upgrades.
Travel across the Central Region, primarily Texas, is required. Licenses: Elevator Inspector’s license and NYC license; QEI preferred.
Perform elevator/escalator evaluations and inspections, checking conformance with code requirements, specifications, and client requests. Identify and document elevator/escalator deficiencies and code violation and provide recommendations for future upgrades. The inspector must be willing to travel throughout the Central Region, primarily throughout the state of Texas. This position is available Full-Time or Part-Time.
Code: Knowledge of national and local codes
Clerical: Properly filling out necessary paperwork for the specific job
Safety: To know and follow the elevator industry handbook
Computer knowledge: understanding and operating field tablet/electronic forms
Must have extensive elevator knowledge, verbal communication skills and must maintain a professional demeanor in all situations and be able to communicate with building ownership, building personnel and contractors. The field inspector must continue to improve their elevator knowledge associated with, but not limited to, national and local codes, national and local testing procedures, jurisdictional processes and new technology.
Elevator Inspector’s license required. Local (NYC) license required. QEI elevator licenses preferred. Possess the knowledge of an Elevator Mechanic. Organizational, computer and interpersonal skills are also necessary for this position.
