Job summary

Michigan Broadband Services is seeking a full-time Outside Plant Field Inspector to oversee telecom construction projects. You will ensure safety, adherence to plans, and regulatory guidelines while supporting network growth.

Responsibilities include inspecting installations, tracking progress, and coordinating with landholders, permitting offices, subcontractors, and internal teams throughout project lifecycles.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or GED required.
• Valid driver’s license with clean record.
• Willingness to travel up to 100%.
• Experience reading engineering drawings and staking sheets preferred.
• Ability to work outdoors in varying weather and navigate rough terrain.

Responsibilities

• Inspect underground facilities and verify placement depth and labeling.
• Monitor field crews and contractors to ensure safety and schedule adherence.
• Maintain inspection logs and report progress to project leadership.
• Interpret engineering schematics to resolve field conflicts.
• Coordinate with landholders, permitting offices, subcontractors, and teams.
• Ensure compliance with company, engineering, and regulatory standards.
• Assist with field logistics and budgeting to keep builds on time.
• Perform quality control reviews of field work.
