Job summary

Michigan Broadband Services (MBS) is hiring a full-time Outside Plant Field Inspector based out of Carney, MI. You will oversee telecom construction projects, enforce safety protocols, and ensure alignment with engineering plans and regulations throughout the project lifecycle.

Responsibilities include on-site evaluations, documentation, and coordination with landholders and subcontractors. Candidates should be able to travel extensively and work outdoors in varying conditions.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent is required.
• Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings, maps, and schematics.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Excel and basic office software.

Responsibilities

• Conduct daily, on-site evaluations of construction crews and contractors.
• Inspect underground facilities installations for depth, labeling, and accuracy.
• Track site progress to ensure safety, blueprints, and building standards.
• Assist with field logistics, scheduling, and project workflow.
• Compile inspection logs and provide status updates to leadership.
• Identify and resolve field staking conflicts using engineering drawings.
• Perform quality control reviews to ensure regulatory compliance.
• Serve as primary contact with landholders, permitting offices, subcontractors, and internal teams.
