Job summary

KPFF Consulting Engineers - Portland Structural is seeking an experienced Special Inspector / Structural Investigator to support our structural practice. The role involves performing special inspections, construction materials testing, and structural investigations on diverse projects, with close collaboration to engineers and other inspectors on active sites.

The ideal candidate brings a strong field inspection background and the ability to coordinate with project teams, with safety and code

Qualifications

• Read and understand construction plans and specifications.
• Understand safety standards and building codes.
• Must possess a valid Oregon Driver's License and have an acceptable driving record.
• Must pass a federal background check.
• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Two current special inspection qualifications (ICC, WABO or AWS CWI).

Responsibilities

• Perform special inspections and construction materials testing.
• Conduct structural investigations for a variety of projects.
• Coordinate with engineers, inspectors, contractors, owners on site.
• Utilize technical field equipment to deliver clear inspection observations.
