Job summary

KPFF Consulting Engineers - Portland Structural is seeking an experienced Special Inspector / Structural Investigator to join our Structural Investigation Group in Portland. The role focuses on on-site inspections, materials testing, and investigative services for a range of projects.

Ideal candidates will have strong field inspection background, good judgment on active construction sites, and the ability to coordinate with project teams. Oregon DL and federal background check are required.

Qualifications

• Minimum two current special inspection qualifications (ICC, WABO, or AWS CWI) required.
• Approximately five years in special inspection, construction materials testing, or structural investigation preferred.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Perform special inspections on structural steel, concrete, masonry, and fireproofing.
• Coordinate with engineers, contractors, owners, and project teams on site.
• Prepare clear inspection observations and summary reports.
