Job summary

CDM Smith in Utah seeks a field Inspector to join our Transportation Construction, Engineering and Inspection team. This on‑site role covers project locations including Pittsburgh, Lisle, Fairmont, Charleston, Knoxville, Nashville, Chattanooga, Raleigh, Columbia, Tifton, Orlando and Sarasota, with 20%–40% travel to projects across the U.S.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent.
• Must possess a valid driver's license.

• Equivalent additional directly related experience will be considered in lieu of a degree.

• The frequency of travel is contingent on specific duties, responsibilities, and the essential functions of the position, which may vary depending on workload and project demands.

Responsibilities

• Perform inspections of traffic control, environmental controls, layout, construction methods and materials.
• Review and approve or reject daily contractor reports and verify QC procedures.
• Review material testing procedures and results for conformance to the contract.
• May be required to sample and test soil, aggregate base, concrete and asphalt pavement.
