Job summary

Lumos & Associates, Inc. seeks a detailed-oriented Field Special Inspector to support construction projects in Reno, NV with high-quality inspections and strict compliance. You will verify work against plans, codes, and safety standards.

The ideal candidate holds ICC Reinforced Concrete, Structural Masonry, and Structural Steel & Bolting certifications and collaborates with engineers, contractors, and regulators on site. Travel to job sites will be required.

Qualifications

• Minimum of four years of construction inspection experience on residential and commercial building projects or special inspection projects or a blend of education, experience, and/or relevant certifications.
• Must hold ICC Reinforced Concrete, ICC Structural Masonry, and ICC Structural Steel & Bolting certifications.
• Knowledge of IBC and ACI Codes and Standards.
• Strong documentation and reporting skills.

Responsibilities

• Lead and coordinate inspection activities across multiple construction sites or large-scale projects.
• Conduct advanced inspections to verify compliance with project specifications, building codes, safety regulations, and quality standards.
• Perform field inspections and materials testing (Soil, Concrete, Masonry, Structural Elements).
• Collaborate with contractors, engineers, architects, and regulatory agencies to resolve issues.
• Prepare daily inspection and testing reports.
• Interpret construction plans, specifications, and standards to verify compliance.
• Monitor material quality and workmanship.
• Issue stop-work orders when required and verify corrective actions.
• Participate in project meetings and provide technical input; monitor job-site safety and report hazards.
