Job summary

CESO, Inc. is seeking an Inspector I to perform field observations and document construction activity for diverse public infrastructure projects. The role blends fieldwork with office tasks, under supervision of a Professional Engineer or Project Manager.

You will document progress, communicate with design staff, and support project teams in planning and execution while adhering to health and safety requirements. A valid driver's license is required.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED is required.
• Associate degree in Civil Engineering (or related field) is preferred.
• 0–5 years of related experience and/or training is preferred.
• Must have a valid driver’s license.
• OSHA 10 Hour Construction and/or Safe Land Certification is preferred, or to be obtained upon hire.
• Fire extinguisher certification is preferred, or to be obtained upon hire.
• First Aid & CPR certification is preferred.
• Computer skills to enter timesheet data and use Microsoft Outlook for email.
• Basic knowledge of AutoCAD, Civil 3D and Bluebeam Revu.

Responsibilities

• Perform field inspections and document findings in support of design improvements.
• Interpret specifications and drawings and convey intent to the contractor.
• Coordinate with design staff on RFIs and design changes.
• Document daily field progress and results; maintain orderly records.
• Ensure field data and reports are saved on CESO’s server.
• Communicate project status with CESO PMs and teams.
• Support engineers and PMs in daily planning and project completion.
• Perform redline mark-ups as directed; handle routine technical work.
• Walk sites for pavement and oil & gas inspections; photograph and document observations; advise on remedies.
• Follow health and safety requirements; participate in daily safety meetings.
• Gain experience across surveying, construction, and design in field and office settings.
