Job summary

Consolidated Engineering Laboratories (CEL) seeks a Group 1 Inspector to join the Aiea, HI team. The role involves reading and interpreting plans, maintaining field data, and ensuring compliance with building codes and ordinances. Travel and weekend/overtime work may be required.

Ideal candidates will have a high school diploma or GED, with a 4-year Earth Science or Engineering degree as a plus, plus strong communication and computer skills. Certification in field-testing is preferred.

Qualifications

• Strong communication skills expected for daily interaction with supervisors and clients.
• Proficiency with Word and Excel; ability to use smartphone/tablet apps.
• Able to read, interpret plans and specifications; write daily reports.

Responsibilities

• Read and understand plans and specifications accurately.
• Maintain organized field files with data, reports, and field documentation.
• Verify compliance with current codes and regulations at the project site.
• Demonstrate attention to detail and readiness to learn technical skills.
• Coordinate daily with supervisor and project manager on field operations and issues; prepare field paperwork, maps and test sheets and submit regularly.
