Job summary

SESI Consulting Engineers in Parsippany, NJ is seeking a field inspector to oversee construction quality and compliance on diverse projects. The role involves inspecting foundations, utilities, pavements and walls, and preparing reports.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree preferred or 1–4 years related experience.
• Experience with inspection of compacted fills, footings and ground improvement.
• Certified or experienced in OSHA HAZWOPER (40 hours).
• NICET/NJ DCA Special Inspector and Nuclear Densometer certification a plus.
• Valid driver's license and reliable transportation to access job sites.

Responsibilities

• Inspects and oversees construction of buildings, dams, utilities, walls and pavements.
• Observes soil and rock conditions; interprets blueprints and specs for compliance.
• Maintains logs, prepares daily progress reports and sketches.
• Performs testing and samples; ensures procedures meet plans and regulations.
• Mentors junior staff and supports environmental and safety programs.
• Travels 100% of the time, which may be out of state.
