Job summary

Brown & Root Industrial Services is seeking helpers with 6+ months field experience to read instructions, interpret drawings and assemble boiler-related structures. The role involves using power and hand tools, rigging, welding and alignment tasks in field settings.

Responsibilities include marking reference points, signaling crane operations, assembling sections, performing minor maintenance, and testing vessels for leaks while adhering to safety regulations.

Qualifications

• Reads and interprets instructions and documentation.
• Applies shop mathematics to solve problems.
• Plans work and selects proper tools.
• Visualizes objects in three dimensions from plans and drawings.

Responsibilities

• Locates and marks reference points for columns or plates on foundation using ruler and transit.
• Attaches rigging or signals crane operator to lift components to position.
• Aligns structures or plates to assemble boiler frame, tanks or vats using plumb bobs and levels.
• Cuts, files and grinds edges to fit parts together.
• Bolts or welds structures and sections to frame.
• Installs manholes, valves, gauges and connections in drums.
• Assists in testing assembled vessels by pumping water or gas under pressure.
