Job summary

Brown & Root Industrial Services seeks an experienced helper for field boiler assembly and repair work. Responsibilities include locating reference points, aligning boiler frames, and rigging components for crane movement in a heavy industrial setting.

The role requires reading and interpreting instructions, basic shop mathematics, and the ability to work at heights with safety adherence. Experience with boilers or related pressure vessels is preferred.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent with previous years of experience in the field or in a related area.
• Knowledge of commonly-used concepts, practices, and procedures within a particular field.
• Relies on instructions and pre-established guidelines to perform the functions of the job.

Responsibilities

• Locate and mark reference points for columns or plates on foundation and use tools to align components.
• Attach rigging or signal crane operator to lift components to position.
• Align structures to assemble boiler frame, tanks or vats using plumb bobs, levels, wedges, dogs or turnbuckles.
• Hammer, flame-cut, file, and grind edges to fit edges together; bolt or arc-weld components.
• Position drums and headers in supports; bolt or weld supports to frame; connect and expand ends to drums and headers.
