Job summary

Kinder Morgan's Instrumentation & Electrical Technician role supports safe, reliable plant and compressor facility operations. You will calibrate, maintain, and troubleshoot instrumentation, control, and analytical systems across amine plants and compressor stations, including PLCs and 480V equipment, while working in the field within Texas.

The position requires hands-on skills, ability to travel to sites, on-call responsiveness, and a commitment to safety and environmental compliance.

Qualifications

Minimum high school diploma or equivalent.
Two years' instrumentation/electrical experience in plant operations.
Familiarity with Burner Management Systems and 4-20mA transmitters.
Knowledge of PLCs, HMIs, and industrial electrical systems.

Responsibilities

Reside within 1hr radius of Laredo or George West, TX.
Maintain instrumentation and electrical assets safely and in compliance with regs and policies.
Troubleshoot PLC systems and control elements; calibrate and test devices.
Oversee on-site contractors and ensure safety and productivity.
Participate in process safety management and routine PMs.
Operate safety-critical process control and emergency shutdown systems.
