Job summary

Powerserve Technologies, Inc. is seeking an Instrumentation & Controls (I&C) Technician to support installation, maintenance, and troubleshooting of instrumentation and control systems on industrial and utility projects in Florida.

The role is suited for entry to mid-level technicians who are hands-on, detail-oriented, and eager to grow in the I&C field. Travel across Florida is required, and you will work under Lead Technicians and Supervisors on field execution.

Qualifications

• 1–5+ years of experience in instrumentation and controls, electrical, or related field.
• Basic understanding of industrial control systems and instrumentation.
• Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and schematics.
• Experience with installation and termination of low-voltage and control wiring.
• Familiarity with PLC systems (Allen-Bradley, Siemens, etc.) is a plus.
• Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
• Willingness to travel throughout Florida and work in outdoor/industrial environments.
• Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation.

Responsibilities

• Install, terminate, and test instrumentation and control wiring, panels, and devices.
• Assist with calibration and commissioning of instruments (flow, level, pressure, temperature, etc.).
• Read and interpret electrical drawings, P&IDs, loop diagrams, and schematics.
• Troubleshoot control systems, including PLC-based systems and associated components.
• Support startup and commissioning activities at project sites.
• Perform routine maintenance and inspections on I&C equipment.
• Ensure all work is completed in accordance with project specifications, codes, and safety standards.
• Accurately document work performed, including redlines and field reports.
• Maintain tools, equipment, and a clean, safe work environment.
