Job summary

Woolpert seeks a Hydrographic Survey Specialist for our San Rafael, CA office to work on marine infrastructure, navigational surveys, and coastal charting across California with significant field time.

Candidate should bring vessel operation experience and survey skills; light travel is expected, and visa sponsorship is not available. Duties include field surveys, data processing, and CAD/LiDAR work, with opportunities for growth within Woolpert's award-winning team.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in surveying, geomatics, environmental science, ocean engineering, geology, geography, spatial science, marine science, or a comparable field.
• Experience with crewed vessel operations and hydrographic or land surveys is preferred.
• Willingness to travel ~100 days per year across CA and other states as project needs dictate.

Responsibilities

• Field: perform multibeam and singlebeam hydrographic surveys, GNSS topographic surveys, terrestrial LiDAR, mobilize survey vessels, conduct GNSS/optical control surveys, operate and tow survey vessels.
• Office: process multibeam data, GNSS network processing/adjustment, use AutoCAD Civil 3D, process terrestrial LiDAR data.
