Job summary

Woolpert in Port Orchard, WA is seeking a Hydrographic Survey Specialist to join our Hydrographic Survey team. The role involves planning and executing hydrographic and marine surveys, GNSS and LiDAR work, and supporting data processing.

Candidates should have a Bachelor’s degree in surveying or related field, experience with Global Mapper and marine software, and be prepared for travel. Visa sponsorship is not available; candidates must already have work authorization in the United States.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in surveying, Geomatics, ocean or marine science or related field.
• Self-motivated, quick learning, curious and flexible with workload management.
• Interest in working in a marine-focused organization and travel readiness.
• Experience with Global Mapper and marine software such as QINSy, CARIS, EIVA Beamworks.
• Experience gathering GPS data with Trimble hardware/software and data processing.
• Experience with AutoCAD or CAD software, MS-Visio, and Adobe Creative Suite.
• Experience with LiDAR processing and 3D visualization.

Responsibilities

• Plan and execute hydrographic and marine survey operations.
• Mobilize, calibrate, operate, and troubleshoot survey systems.
• Acquire and process multibeam and single-beam bathymetric data.
• GNSS Topographic Surveys and Terrestrial LiDAR Surveys.
• Survey vessel mobilization and coastal waterways experience is preferred.
• Multibeam and Singlebeam Data Processing and data adjustments.
