Job summary

Critical Loop is hiring a Site Operations Technician to maintain and service deployed battery fleets, ensuring safety, availability, and compliance. You will work with engineers on fielded and HQ assets, applying high-voltage expertise to larger stationary and mobile systems.

Role focuses on preventive maintenance, corrective repairs, HV isolation, and ensuring warranty and safety audits are supported by accurate service records.

Qualifications

• 5+ years hands-on as a technician with high voltage electrical systems.
• Competence on energized/de-energized high-voltage DC systems with isolation and zero-energy verification.
• Understanding of Li-ion packs: BMS, balancing, thermal management and safe handling of damaged modules.
• Ability to read electrical schematics and wiring diagrams to follow procedures.
• Strong documentation discipline for service records and audits.
• Valid driver’s license; able to tow, lift 50 lb, and work outdoors.

Responsibilities

• Perform preventive maintenance on mobile BESS units: battery racks, PCS/inverters, HVAC, switchgear, enclosures, and trailers.
• Execute corrective repairs from work orders and field diagnosis: component swaps, inspections, replacements, coolant service, harness repair.
• Perform high-voltage isolation, LOTO, and zero-energy verification per NFPA 70E and HV procedures.
• Set up, connect, and demobilize mobile units at customer sites and interconnect to switchgear.
• Support commissioning and site testing: wiring checks, insulation resistance, continuity testing, torque checks, data capture.
• Isolate faults with diagnostic tools and capture evidence for root cause.
• Maintain service records in CMMS, manage depot spares and tools, train junior staff.
