Job summary

Vulcan Materials Company seeks an HR business partner for California operations. This role supports labor relations, employee engagement, and policy execution alongside regional leadership across up to 10 Southern California locations, from Escondido to Chula Vista.

The ideal candidate has 5+ years in HR/OD, strong negotiation and advisory skills, and a track record in industrial settings. Travel is frequent; a robust HR background is essential.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Industrial Relations, Business Administration or related field or equivalent work experience is desired.
• Advanced degree is an advantage.
• SPHR or equivalent professional certifications preferred.

Responsibilities

• Serve as a business partner to operations and sales management to enhance the Western Division's (California) capability to achieve its goals and objectives for Southern California, with coverage from Escondido to Chula Vista.
• Participate in division leadership and planning initiatives.
• Lead change as required by new company initiatives.
• Partner with regional leadership and plant managers on employee relations issues.
• Assist with acquisitions and growth initiatives related to HR and organization issues.
• Participate in candidate interviews and provide objective HR-driven feedback to managers.
