Job Description

We are seeking an HR Business Partner in Melville, NY to join our Americas Field HR Team. The role focuses on enhancing employee experience and supporting employees and leaders across the Northeast and the US.

This individual will serve as a key HR partner, providing expertise in employee relations, performance management, data-driven decision making, and executing HR programs and processes.

The ideal candidate should have a Bachelor’s degree in HR, Business, or a related field, with at least 3 years of relevant HR experience. Strong skills in Excel, HR data analytics, HRIS (OracleHR), HR case management (ServiceNow), and a mindset geared towards continuous improvement and technology are preferred.

Responsibilities
  • Implement enterprise people strategies in collaboration with HR functions and promote adoption of initiatives locally.
  • Partner with local leaders to support business change operations.
  • Collaborate on initiatives related to One HR Culture, Diversity & Inclusion, employee engagement, and retention.
  • Work with site leaders and colleagues to improve the employee experience.
  • Coach and guide leaders on employee relations issues.
  • Understand local employment laws, market conditions, and trends affecting talent attraction and retention; advise global HR on implications.
  • Manage local HR processes such as onboarding, salary planning, talent development, performance, and exit management using workforce analytics.
  • Ensure compliance with HR policies and procedures, and identify areas of risk.
  • Support HR audits, compliance, and related programs.
  • Develop and implement HR policies and programs aligned with organizational goals.
  • Support HR projects and perform other duties as assigned.
  • Adhere to UL’s Code of Conduct and security practices.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field, plus at least three years of HR experience.
  • Previous experience as an HR Business Partner is preferred.
  • Excellent communication, presentation, and client service skills; ability to influence and manage relationships.
  • Creative problem-solving skills at the tactical level.
  • Experience managing a sizable internal customer base.
  • Comprehensive knowledge of labor law, employee relations, recruitment, compensation, and performance management.
  • Proficiency with HR software applications.
  • Technical expertise in areas such as Employee Relations, Talent Acquisition, Rewards, Talent Management, or Organizational Change.
  • Intermediate data analysis skills to interpret and utilize data for decision-making.
  • Results-oriented with the ability to understand the big picture and provide strategic recommendations.
  • Strong project management skills to deliver accurate and timely results.
