Job summary

PCiRoads, a subsidiary of C.S. McCrossan, seeks a Mechanic Operator to repair and maintain a range of heavy equipment in field settings. The role requires travel with paving crews and a seasonal schedule from spring through fall. Candidates should have a Class A license, health card, and strong safety awareness.

Responsibilities include routine inspections, preventive maintenance, and operational readiness of trucks and heavy machinery while adhering to PPE protocols and site safety rules.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.
• Must understand and follow verbal and written instructions.
• Knowledge of the heavy highway construction industry.
• Knowledge of heavy equipment operation.
• Knowledge of repair and maintenance of heavy construction equipment.
• Hazards and safety precautions awareness.
• Reliable transportation; Class A license and health card.

Responsibilities

• Repair and maintain trucks and heavy equipment such as graders, loaders, excavators.
• Perform routine inspections and preventative maintenance; report defects.
• Wear PPE as required.
• Work in the field with paving crew; travel is required.
• Seasonal schedule, typically April–November.
