Job Summary

This position is responsible for the repair of construction machines, component assemblies, and parts in the shop and field. Responsibilities include diagnosing issues, ordering parts, writing technical reports, warranty reporting, maintaining company assets, and effective communication with team members.

Responsibilities

1. Repair equipment and components, including developing repair plans and sequences.
2. Determine necessary parts, materials, tooling, etc.
3. Perform repairs safely and correctly, with quality assurance testing.
4. Maintain and complete reports for parts ordering, tooling usage, service reports, and work orders.
5. Communicate repair progress with supervisors.
6. Manage parts and tools through company systems and maintain proper care of equipment.
7. Use company vehicles and fuel cards responsibly.
8. Maintain a safe and clean work environment.
9. Follow all safety guidelines and company policies.
10. Perform additional tasks as assigned.

Qualifications

High School Diploma or G.E.D. equivalent required. An Associate Degree in Diesel or Equipment Technology or four years of apprenticeship experience is preferred. Technician classification depends on experience, knowledge, and competence.

Physical Demands

Must be able to sit, stand, walk, and use hands for handling and feeling. Also, reach, climb, balance, stoop, kneel, lift, crouch, crawl, talk, and hear. Reasonable accommodations can be provided for individuals with disabilities.

Work Environment

Frequent exposure to wet/humid conditions and moving mechanical parts. Occasionally exposed to fumes, airborne particles, weather extremes, and vibration. Noise level is moderate to loud.
