Job summary

Base is building a next‑generation power network from a hands‑on lab in Austin. You will test field-returned hardware, help engineers diagnose root causes, and contribute to design and firmware improvements.

You will create and refine tools and processes to triage field returns and keep the lab safe and efficient. You will work closely with engineers, vendors, and staff to ensure high‑quality results and rapid learning.

Qualifications

• High school diploma required; associate degree preferred in a related field.
• Experience in an engineering or technical setting with hands-on design, testing, and assembly.
• Proficiency with multimeters and power supplies.
• Strong organizational skills and ability to manage multiple tasks.
• Good communication skills to work with engineers, vendors, and staff.
• Curiosity about how devices work and a drive to understand hardware.

Responsibilities

• Test field-returned hardware and support engineers with root-cause analysis to determine failure and improvements.
• Build and maintain field triage tooling; improve testing processes and own the workflow.
• Maintain lab safety and keep a clean, organized workspace.
• Coordinate testing throughput; track results and flag quality issues to engineers for prioritization of changes.
