Job summary

Sevenson Environmental Services, Inc. is seeking a GIS Specialist to support operations onsite in Deepwater, New Jersey. The role requires hands-on use of GPS hardware and GIS software (QGIS and ArcGIS) to manage vector/raster data and assist field technicians with data collection.

The ideal candidate will hold a Bachelor's degree in GIS or a related field, demonstrate fluency in QGIS/ArcGIS, and be able to learn new GIS tools quickly, with travel as needed.

Qualifications

Bachelor’s Degree in Geographic Information Science or related field.
GIS Software fluency with QGIS and ArcGIS; field applications including QField, Field Maps, Survey123.
Ability to follow written and verbal instructions, workflows and procedures.
Ability to learn new software and GIS systems quickly.
Basic understanding of Python coding within GIS software.
GPS hardware equipment knowledge (Trimble and others).
File maintenance and organizational skills.

Responsibilities

Use of GPS hardware (GNSS receivers, base stations, rovers) and GIS software (QGIS and ArcGIS).
Tasks including working with vector and raster data and data processing.
Support field technicians with data collection.
