Job summary

Stantec is seeking a Staff Geologist or Field Scientist to support environmental site assessment and remediation projects in California. The role combines office and field work, with substantial field time and interaction with clients and project teams.

Candidates should have a geology or related degree and relevant field experience. Travel up to 70% is expected, with responsibilities including data collection, site investigations, reporting, and ensuring safety and quality standards across

Qualifications

BS and/or MS in Geology, Environmental Science, or related discipline.
Professional registration or license, or interest in obtaining professional licensure is a plus.
3 years of relevant experience in site investigation, remediation, or environmental consulting, preferred.
Familiarity with GIS data collection applications such as Esri Field Maps and Survey 123.

Responsibilities

Manage multiple tasks with adherence to scope, budget and schedule.
Communicate daily with the project team and clients as needed.
Assist with complex site assessment and remediation projects with multi-person teams.
Prepare health and safety documents and obtain permits for field work.
Lead field activities including soil, groundwater sampling and logs.
Prepare technical reports with findings and recommendations.
Support PM in tracking schedules and budgets across project phases.
Travel approximately 70% in the field, primarily in Los Angeles and Ventura Counties.
