Job summary

AngloGold Ashanti North America Inc. is seeking a Staff Geologist to support exploration and resource development across Nevada projects.

You will execute field programs, drilling support, mapping, sampling, data management, and interpretation to advance targets and project objectives. Working under senior staff, you will apply sound geological practices, maintain safety and data quality, and deliver accurate technical information to support decision-making in exploration and development.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Geology, Geological Engineering, Earth Sciences, or related discipline required.
• Master’s degree or higher preferred.
• Valid driver’s license and willingness to operate 4WD vehicles.
• First Aid certification or willingness to obtain certification.
• No industry experience required; 2–3 years of mining or exploration experience preferred.
• Exposure to economic geology through industry experience, academic research, field programs, or professional development.
• Experience with geological data analysis, GIS, database management, or coding/programming is an asset.
• Ability to work effectively in remote field environments and varying weather conditions.

Responsibilities

• Demonstrate safety leadership during drilling, sampling, mapping, and exploration activities.
• Coordinate with drilling contractors, technicians, surveyors, and logistics to support field operations.
• Maintain accurate geological records and databases with disciplined data validation.
• Prepare geological logs, maps, cross-sections, tables, and technical summaries.
• Assist with maintenance of exploration databases and records management systems.
