Job summary

Aleut Federal in Oxford, NC is seeking a Mid-Level Geologist/Environmental Scientist to join our team. Responsibilities include field drilling oversight, groundwater sampling, data interpretation, and report preparation. Extended travel up to 80% may be required; OSHA/Hazwoper readiness and a bachelor’s in geology or environmental science are preferred.

The role supports environmental compliance, site assessments, and risk evaluations while collaborating with project teams and regulators.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Geology, Environmental Science, or related discipline.
  • Professional Geologist (PG) or similar licensure preferred.
  • OSHA 40-hour HAZWOPER preferred; SSHO qualification is a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Oversees installation of groundwater monitoring wells and samples.
  • Performs field investigations and office project support with reports.
  • Develops technical reports, proposals, and maps.
  • Collects rock, soil, and mineral samples for analysis.
  • Interprets geological and environmental data to support recommendations.
  • Ensures safety compliance and coordinates with clients and regulators.
  • Maintains field documentation and quality records.
