Onterris in Nashville, TN, is seeking a Staff Geologist to support a variety of geological and environmental projects across Tennessee and other US locations. The role involves field sampling, data interpretation, and preparing technical reports under supervision.

The ideal candidate has a bachelor’s degree in Environmental Science (Geology preferred), is prepared for fieldwork and travel, and can communicate findings clearly. Travel and adherence to safety standards are essential.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Environmental Science (Geology preferred) or related field.
• No formal work experience required; internship or 1–2 years of entry-level experience preferred.
• Valid driver’s license and ability to travel; security clearance at federal installations may be required.
• Knowledge of computer-aided software (Microsoft Suite, Google Suite, AutoCAD, ArcGIS).
• Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
• Physically capable of fieldwork across varying terrains and weather.

Responsibilities

• Assist with geological projects across Tennessee and other US locations.
• Perform field sampling under supervision and ensure quality data.
• Develop project deliverables, write reports, and present data graphically.
• Coordinate with technical staff and clients on projects.
• Maintain safety and follow OSHA regulations.
• Track project hours and meet schedules and budgets.
