Job summary

CDM Smith seeks a Geologist/Environmental Specialist to join our field team in the United States. You will plan and conduct geologic and environmental investigations, perform drilling and logging, collect samples, install monitoring wells, and prepare field notes and reports.

Requirements include a Bachelor's degree and 5 years of relevant experience; domestic/international travel may be required. Travel frequency depends on project needs and duties.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree required.
  • 5 years of relevant experience.
  • Equivalent additional directly related experience will be considered in lieu of a college degree.
  • Domestic and/or international travel may be required; frequency contingent on project demands.

Responsibilities

  • Plan and conduct geologic and environmental investigations.
  • Conduct drilling and logging for moderate to highly complex projects.
  • Log soil/rock cores and prepare boring logs per ASTM/USCS standards.
  • Collect and manage environmental and geotechnical samples for laboratory analysis.
  • Install and maintain groundwater monitoring wells/instrumentation.
  • Prepare technical field notes, logs, and support documentation.
  • Attend progress meetings.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
