Job summary

SKT, Inc. seeks a Field Generator Technician to install, maintain and repair standby power equipment and wiring for tower systems up to 500 feet. You will perform scheduled maintenance and troubleshooting on diesel/propane generators from Generac, Kohler, Kubota, Cummins, CAT, and others.

The role spans field service with some warehouse duties. Read schematics, pre-order parts, and follow OSHA safety standards. Valid DOT medical screening and background checks required; CDL preferred.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED; trade school preferred.
• Two years of generator technician experience.
• Ability to diagnose engine issues and inspect parts for wear.
• Must pass pre-employment DOT medical screening and background checks.

Responsibilities

• Install, maintain, and repair standby power equipment and wiring on job sites.
• Read schematics, blueprints, and technical diagrams to guide work.
• Pre-order parts and maintain inventory for repairs.
• Plan methods and sequence of repairs assigned.
• Diagnose malfunctioning systems using test equipment and hand tools.
• Promote and adhere to the safety program.
• Update timecards daily and sign weekly.
• Collaborate as a key crew member for project success.
• Load and transport materials to job sites; secure for safety.
• Operate company vehicles safely and in compliance with laws.
