Job summary

Sudden Service, Inc. in Albany, GA seeks a Field Service Technician to service Taylor equipment at customer sites, diagnosing and repairing diesel and power-generation systems. Travel to client locations will be required to perform maintenance and repairs.

You will plan with the Service Manager, perform preventive maintenance, and ensure proper operation after service. A valid driver’s license and good people skills are essential for successful customer interactions.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or GED is required.
• Experience with diesel and/or gas engines including servicing and repairing.
• Electrical knowledge and ability to read wiring diagrams.
• AC and DC knowledge is preferred.
• Power generation experience is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Plan effective work and travel with Service Manager, prioritizing customer needs.
• Diagnose malfunctions; repair/replace parts; install assemblies; adjust controls as needed.
• Provide tools and parts; arrange facilities to perform repair work at customer sites.
• Inspect, operate, and test machines on delivery, during inspections, and after repairs to ensure proper function.
• Report to Service Manager with customer details, machine description, and time expenditures for billing.
• Perform preventative maintenance on generator sets: change fluids/filters, inspect AC/DC systems, belts, hoses, exhausts; conduct load bank testing; complete checklists.
• Strive to improve technical skills through training and attendance at company events.
• Maintain a neat appearance and keep the service truck in good condition.
• Senior technicians serve as troubleshooters and may mentor others on large repairs.
• Train or supervise junior technicians on large-scale repair jobs.
