Job summary

L&A Utility Solutions Inc. in Baltimore, MD is seeking a skilled Generator Technician to diagnose, repair, and maintain commercial/industrial generators in telecom facilities, utilities, and other critical operations.

This on-site role emphasizes independence, strong mechanical/electrical troubleshooting, and the ability to read schematics. A clean driver's license and willingness to respond to emergencies are required.

Qualifications

• Proven experience working on commercial/industrial generators.
• Strong mechanical and electrical troubleshooting ability.
• Ability to read schematics and wiring diagrams.
• Self-starter who can work independently in the field.
• Clean driver’s license.
• Willingness to respond to emergency service calls when required.
• Manufacturer certifications (Cummins, Generac Industrial, Kohler, CAT, etc.) are a strong plus.

Responsibilities

• Perform preventive maintenance on commercial and industrial standby generators.
• Diagnose and repair diesel and natural gas generator systems.
• Troubleshoot ATS, controls, batteries, fuel systems, and electrical components.
• Perform load bank testing.
• Respond to service calls and emergency outages when needed.
• Maintain professional documentation and customer communication.
