Job summary

Blue Origin is seeking a Supplier Development Engineer to build and lead qualification programs with our supplier base. You will drive four‑gate qualification activities, including capability surveys and first article inspections, and partner with procurement, engineering, and quality teams to ensure readiness and performance.

You will travel to supplier facilities, manage qualification files, and support international supplier development while contributing to the company’s safety and quality

Qualifications

• BS degree in an engineering or related field.
• 2+ years in supplier development, manufacturing engineering, or related cross‑functional role with supplier facing accountability.
• Experience planning and conducting supplier audits or readiness assessments.
• Ability to travel regularly to supplier facilities.

Responsibilities

• Lead supplier qualification activities through four‑gate pathway (Capability Survey, On‑Site Audit, First Article Inspection, Rate Readiness).
• Conduct on‑site supplier audits to evaluate manufacturing maturity, quality systems, and readiness.
• Own qualification files from initial assessment to first article approval and production.
• Drive development programs with strategic and preferred suppliers and run DtM workshops.
