Job summary

Steigerwaldt Land Services, Inc. seeks a Forestry/Environmental Technician (LTE) for Hayward or Tomahawk, WI. This entry‑level, limited‑term role supports Forest Operations, Inventory & Geospatial Solutions, Environmental, and Tree Farm projects with heavy field work and seasonal start in May 2027.

Wage is commensurate with experience; travel up to 25‑40% and a valid driver’s license are required. The position is based in Wisconsin with outdoor work most days.

Qualifications

• Pursuing a 2- or 4-year degree in forestry or natural resource management.
• Ability to work independently in varied settings, both in the field and with clients and other professionals.
• Superior written and oral communication skills.
• Proficient with Microsoft Office software.
• Experience with GPS data collection and GIS
• Experience with ESRI GIS software and GIS mapping and data collection principles
• Willingness to travel and conduct overnight work away from the office – travel up to 25-40 percent or more
• Valid driver's license with a reliable vehicle
• ATV and snowmobile certifications

Responsibilities

• Daily field work and support in multiple departments.
• Timber marking and sale setup.
• Harvest boundary delineation and timber inventory.
• Wetland delineation assistance.
• Tree farm management tasks.
• Periodic travel on projects, potentially out of state.
• Other duties as assigned.
