Davey Resource Group, Inc. in Southern Indiana is hiring for a position focused on vegetation management planning and analysis across Southern Indiana.

You will contribute to planning, inspection, and data collection using handheld devices, GIS data, and coordination with project managers and vegetation crews. The role involves traveling within the utility service area, starting pay at $20 per hour depending on qualifications and experience, and the chance to grow within a large employee-owned

Qualifications

• Related field experience.
• ISA Certified, or certification within 6 months.
• Registered Technician with Indiana or commercial applicator license.
• Ability to work safely.
• Love of outdoors and ability to hike in rugged terrain and inclement weather.
• Read and follow GIS data and maps; work independently.
• Leadership experience and career growth priority.
• Problem solving, deadlines, and technical innovation.
• Able to handle conflict effectively.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Travel throughout the utility service area.
• Valid Driver’s License with clean DMV record and ability to drive a 4x4.
• Identify local tree species & growth rates.
• Organizational skills; computer/file management.

Responsibilities

• Contribute to vegetation management planning and analysis.
• Use technology to assist electric utilities in delivering safe power and maintaining national security.
• Perform property owner research and landowner notifications.
• Inspect vegetation in rights of way for compliance and work plans.
• Identify tree and brush control work and protection zone recommendations.
• Attend meetings and trainings as requested.
• Collect data and document work using hand-held devices; assess terrain and environment; support projects.
• Coordinate with Project Managers, Planners, and Crews to craft solutions.
