Atlas Field Services is seeking a Contract Forester to join our Georgia team as a full-time employee. The role focuses on vegetation management for utility corridors, with emphasis on rights-of-way inspections, bid package development, and coordination with landowners and contractors.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Forestry or related field is required.
• ISA Certified Arborist or Natural Sciences BS Degree is required.
• At least 3 years’ experience as an inventory arborist (work planner), design arborist, or quality arborist.
• Minimum 1 year of utility line clearance experience or utility work planning experience.
• Fully qualified to relieve a client's arborist.
• Proficient in OM and CM work processes and WMS processes.
• Ability to learn GPS and GIS-based systems quickly.
• Customer services experience is required.
• Basic tree identification skills.
• Basic knowledge of electric utility systems.
• Knowledge of regional tree species and growth characteristics.

Responsibilities

• Inspect rights-of-way to assess vegetation conditions and determine required maintenance activities.
• Utilize client systems and applications frequently.
• Assist with developing bid package maps and work manifests.
• Research easement and land rights for widths, rights, and restrictions.
• Meet with landowners to explain vegetation management work.
• Mark work in the field where required.
• Respond to public concerns and questions about the work.
• Assist in developing public relations materials.
• Respond to contractor questions concerning work specifications and requirements.
• Inspect contractor work for compliance with utility specifications.
• Assist in managing contractors during storm restoration operations.
• Support special projects assigned by the utility.
