Job summary

Nouryon is seeking a Process Engineer for our Houston site. This role combines hands-on chemical manufacturing with process design, capital projects and continuous improvement, enabling ownership from concept through commissioning and impacting site performance.

You will lead capital projects, optimize processes, and engage across operations, maintenance and engineering to deliver practical solutions and drive improvements at our Houston manufacturing site.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Chemical Engineering.
• 5+ years of experience in Process or Production engineering in PSM‑regulated chemical manufacturing.
• Hands-on experience in a manufacturing environment translating field experience into practical process designs.
• Experience with process design, capital project development and execution, process optimization and root cause problem solving.
• Working knowledge of Process Safety Management (PSM) with activities like MOC, PSSR, PHA and incident investigations.

Responsibilities

• Lead process engineering activities for capital projects from development through commissioning.
• Identify and lead process optimization and cost-reduction opportunities while troubleshooting units.
• Lead and participate in Process Safety Management activities (MOC, PSSR, incident investigations, hazard studies).
• Develop practical engineering solutions by field work and collaboration with operators, maintenance, chemists, and engineers.
• Support process and equipment changes with documentation and training for engineers, operators, and maintenance personnel.
• Support site HSES, environmental and quality initiatives, including troubleshooting and continuous improvement.
