Job summary

ACME seeks a Fleet Mechanic to maintain and repair vehicles/equipment, conduct inspections, and perform preventive maintenance to support daily operations. You will troubleshoot, install upgrades, record services, and ensure safety and regulatory compliance under the Fleet Manager's direction.

The role requires hands-on diesel/gas engine experience, willingness to travel to branches, ASE preferred, and ability to work complex mechanical systems on heavy equipment.

Qualifications

• Must be willing to travel to different branch locations as needed using company provided service truck.
• ASE Certified preferred but not mandatory
• Must have electrical and drivability diagnostic experience- Required
• 1-3 years of Mechanic experience of Diesel and Gas engines for on-highway vehicles
• Light/Medium/Heavy Duty Vehicle & Trailer Repair Experience - Required
• Off-Highway equipment experience such as front-end loaders, skid steers, mini excavators, forklifts
• Experience in performing Annual Federal DOT Inspections
• Class A CDL preferred but not mandatory

Responsibilities

• Inspect and perform preventive maintenance on construction vehicle/equipment.
• Diagnose wear and damage; identify parts needing replacement.
• Perform repairs and adjustments on powertrain, electrical, hydraulics, brakes, and more.
• Test drive to verify performance and adjust controls.
• Maintain vehicle/equipment records of services and repairs.
• Keep shop organized; source parts and manage supplies.
• Ensure compliance with safety and environmental standards.
