Job summary

Devon Energy is seeking a Flare Operator to perform preventative maintenance and repairs on field flares. You will use production data to anticipate issues and fix flares quickly while ensuring compliance with air emissions regulations.

This role requires a high school diploma and at least one year of related experience, plus strong data quality and communication skills. You must be able to work extended hours and operate a manlift.

Qualifications

  • High School diploma or equivalent.
  • Minimum 1 year of related experience.
  • Oil and Gas industry experience preferred.
  • Intermediate level computer skills.
  • Strong data quality and accuracy skills.
  • Strong interpersonal and organizational skills.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Able to work extended hours.
  • Must be comfortable operating and working in manlift.

Responsibilities

  • Proficiently repair operating flares.
  • Use production data (cygnet) to be able to prevent repairs.
  • Develop a working knowledge of relevant air emissions regulations.
  • Properly document findings and repairs in accordance with applicable regulatory requirements.
  • Coordinate follow-up repair and maintenance work for flares requiring larger scale corrections.
  • Transfer findings, corrective actions, and best practices to operations and engineering.
  • Utilize phone/Ipad apps to enter inspection data for reporting.
