Job summary

Fortis Fire & Safety is seeking a Fire Sprinkler & Alarm Inspector to perform inspection, testing, and maintenance (ITM) of water-based fire protection systems across commercial and residential properties. This is a skilled field-based role for a technician who can work independently, manage a daily route, and serve as a trusted point of contact for customers.

Working with limited supervision, the Inspector conducts routine and complex inspections, documents findings, and helps mentor junior

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED is required.
• Minimum 2 years hands-on experience inspecting, testing, and maintaining fire sprinkler systems and/or other water-based fire protection systems; fire alarm experience is desirable.
• Strong knowledge of NFPA 25; familiarity with NFPA 72 and Florida fire code provisions.
• Ability to read sprinkler drawings, schematics, and wiring diagrams.
• Proficient with hand tools and test equipment; ability to troubleshoot mechanically/electrically.

Responsibilities

• Independently perform inspections, testing, and maintenance of fire sprinkler systems and fire alarms per NFPA standards and local codes.
• Document inspection results and deficiencies; produce clear reports.
• Communicate findings to customers and identify follow-up service opportunities.
• Read and interpret sprinkler drawings and hydraulic information.
• Mentor junior inspectors and maintain readiness of tools and equipment.
