Job summary

UniFirst First Aid + Safety in Washington State is seeking a reliable Portable Fire Extinguisher Technician to inspect, service, and maintain portable extinguishers and emergency lighting. You will train teammates, provide technical support, and help grow our fire service offerings.

The role requires NFPA 10 inspection experience, a valid driver’s license, the ability to travel, and a customer‑facing approach.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Must be 18+ and have a valid driver's license.
• NFPA Extinguisher Certification required.
• Experience performing monthly and annual NFPA 10 inspections.
• Fire Extinguisher license/certification as required by state/local
• Ability to travel within the designated territory and lift up to 75 lbs.
• Strong customer service and sales skills preferred.

Responsibilities

• Conduct portable fire extinguisher and emergency/exit lighting inspection, service, repair, and maintenance.
• Train team members in related tasks.
• Provide technical support to team members.
• Assist with monthly and annual NFPA 10 inspections to maintain compliance.
• Inspect emergency egress lighting and exit signs as needed.
• Provide on-site audits and quotes for fire services.
• Present and demonstrate fire-related products/services to customers.
• Cover vacations and time off by servicing equipment.
• Provide fire services software training to team members.
