Job summary

Johnson Controls in Norfolk, VA is seeking a Fire Alarm Inspector II to perform inspections, testing, service, and preventative maintenance on life safety systems in the field.

You will document work, follow safety procedures, and work flexible shifts to meet customer needs; lifting up to 70 lbs, working at heights. Ideal candidates have 1-3 years in testing/inspecting fire alarm equipment and strong communication skills.

Qualifications

• 1-3 year of installation or service experience in testing and inspecting fire alarm equipment.
• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Valid driver’s license with a good driving record.
• Ability to work with little or no supervision.

Responsibilities

• Inspect and test fire alarm systems for existing and new customer sites.
• Perform routine service and preventative maintenance on life safety product lines.
• Complete accurate documentation for all work performed using the tools provided.
• Follow verbal and written instructions while meeting schedules and customer needs.
• Work safely and professionally; lift up to 70 lbs as needed.
• Work at heights or in unusual positions, including ladders and scaffolding.
