Job summary

The candidate will document splice results, manage splice equipment, and participate in job-site setup and cleanup. On-call weekend shifts and outdoor work in varied environments are required.

Qualifications

• 0–2 years of fiber optic splicing experience or completed splicing training program.
• Basic familiarity with fusion splicing equipment and fiber preparation tools.
• Understanding of fiber color coding standards.
• Willingness to work outdoors in all weather conditions and travel locally.

Responsibilities

• Perform fusion and mechanical splicing of single-mode and multimode fiber.
• Prepare fiber for splicing including cleaning, stripping, and cleaving.
• Organize splice trays and fiber within splice enclosures to spec.
• Assist with OTDR testing and record traces accurately.
• Complete splice loss records and enclosure logs for assigned work.
• Support crew setup, breakdown, and site cleanup.
• Maintain splicing equipment in clean, operational condition.
