Job summary

Verizon Newark, DE seeks a field technician to install, splice, test, repair, and maintain our fiber and access lines. You’ll operate equipment and read engineering specs, ensuring reliable network performance across customers and sites.

The role requires a valid driver's license, willingness to work evenings and weekends, and completion of Verizon's technician program or equivalent. On-site work at defined locations with full benefits and overtime where applicable.

Qualifications

• Valid state driver’s license with a satisfactory driving record.
• Completion of Verizon Technician Program or similar programs covering electrical or lineman training.
• Associated degree or 2+ years of relevant experience is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Perform splicing, rearranging, and termination of cable conductors for outside plant facilities.
• Operate trucks and equipment needed to perform work operations in a safe manner.
• Install, repair, maintain, and test access lines for all types of equipment and technology.
• Read and interpret engineering plans and vendor specifications.
• Climb ladders and poles; work aloft and handle items up to 100 lbs.
• Work evenings, weekends, holidays and unscheduled shifts as needed.
