Job summary

Goodwill Greater New York and Northern New Jersey (GWNYNJ) seeks a Facilities & Safety Coordinator to oversee health and safety programs, perform preventive facilities maintenance, and coordinate training across locations in New York and New Jersey.

You will manage safety records, support emergency preparedness, and collaborate with operations, HR, and asset protection to ensure safe, compliant workplaces. This is a field-based role with travel to multiple sites.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required; Associate's degree or technical school designation preferred.
• 4-9 years of experience in facilities maintenance, safety, operations, or related field.
• Working knowledge of OSHA standards and workplace safety principles.
• Experience using training/compliance-tracking software or similar platforms preferred.
• Valid driver’s license with clean driving record; ability to travel throughout New York and New Jersey.
• Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and work from ladders when necessary.

Responsibilities

• Conduct health and safety inspections and facility assessments across Goodwill NYNJ locations.
• Identify hazards, document findings, coordinate corrective actions and re-inspections.
• Assist with incident investigations and root cause analysis.
• Maintain safety records, compliance docs, and reporting metrics; audit-ready.
• Coordinate emergency drills and maintain emergency preparedness documentation.
• Deliver safety orientation and ongoing training to employees and supervisors.
