Job summary

GA Group is seeking a Field Examiner to join our Chicago-based team, focusing on collateral analysis for asset-based lending. The role involves testing collateral records, preparing field examination reports, and interviewing management to assess financial and operational risk.

The candidate works in a hybrid schedule, with 2-3 days per week in the Chicago, IL office, and must be comfortable traveling to client sites as needed.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in accounting (required).
• At least 2 years in financial services, lending, or advisory fields.
• Advanced knowledge of income statements and balance sheets.
• Strong analytical and time-management skills.
• Excellent written and verbal English communication.
• Proficient in MS Excel and Microsoft Office suite.
• Willingness to travel to client sites and work in Chicago office.

Responsibilities

• Performs in-depth testing and analysis of collateral (Accounts Receivable and Inventory) to verify existence and identify weaknesses.
• Assists in preparation of field examination reports and workpapers communicating findings and variances.
• Participate in management interviews to gain insight into financial, collateral and operational management.
• Set priorities and manage multiple deadlines.
• Build and maintain relationships with subject companies during the field exam process.
• Ensure effective internal communication within the exam team.
• Performs site visits; travel up to 35% per month.
• Participate in client meetings and report deliveries.
