Job summary

Sammons Industrial, LLC is hiring for a Technician 2 to diagnose, repair, and maintain material handling equipment in the shop and at customer locations. You will apply strong mechanical know-how with safety as a priority, ensuring accuracy in service records and basic welding when needed.

You should have 3+ years in forklift repair or related industry, a high school diploma or GED, and a valid driver’s license; trade school training and Briggs product certifications are preferred.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of forklift repair or related industry experience with strong mechanical aptitude.
• A high school diploma or GED and a valid driver’s license; mechanical or trade school training and Hyster-Yale technician certifications are preferred.
• The ability to use precision measuring instruments and perform hands-on work safely; welding or fabrication experience is a plus.
• Certification on at least 65% of Briggs Equipment product line is required.

Responsibilities

• Diagnose, troubleshoot, repair, and rebuild material handling equipment, including engines, electrical systems, hydraulics, transmissions, brakes, steering, drive systems, and lifting systems.
• Perform preventive maintenance and equipment inspections, identify potential problems and safety concerns, and complete basic welding or fabrication work when needed.
• Put safety first on every job by properly securing equipment, following company procedures, and maintaining compliance with applicable DOT, OSHA, and other safety requirements.
• Keep accurate service records, maintain necessary parts and supplies, care for your company vehicle, complete required training and certifications, and support the team wherever needed.
