Job summary

The Virginia Department of Transportation is seeking an Equipment Repair Technician to diagnose, repair, inspect and maintain a wide range of motorized and mechanical equipment used in construction, highway maintenance, and grounds work. Responsibilities

Diagnose vehicle, equipment, or asset failures using electronics and manuals and online resources; recommend outsourcing for major repairs when needed.
Perform repairs and overhauls on engines, drivetrains, electrical and climate systems.
Perform preventive maintenance according to PM schedule and guidelines; repair or recommend outsourcing as needed.
Weld, fabricate, modify components to repair or replace parts.
Perform duties and projects as assigned.
