Job summary

Commonwealth of VA Careers seeks a skilled vehicle and equipment technician to diagnose, repair, inspect, and maintain motorized and mechanical equipment across construction, highway, grounds, and automotive settings.

You will perform preventive maintenance, repair engines and electrical systems, weld components, and oversee safety inspections under Virginia guidelines while documenting all work orders.

Qualifications

• Experience repairing automotive and construction equipment.
• Knowledge of diesel and gasoline engines, electrical systems, and hydraulics.
• Ability to read and comprehend repair manuals and gauges.
• Possession of CDL and DOT medical card is required.

Responsibilities

• Diagnose vehicle or equipment failures using diagnostic tools and manuals.
• Perform repairs and preventive maintenance on diverse vehicles and equipment.
• Execute safety inspections and document work orders in the system.
• Fabricate or weld parts as needed for repairs.
