Job summary

Black & Veatch is seeking a Fleet Equipment Professional to support equipment operations on construction projects. The role involves coordinating planning, ordering, tracking, forecasting, maintenance, and demobilization to optimize uptime and cost efficiency.

Travel to sites is required as it is field-based work. Ideal candidates have five+ years in equipment management, strong knowledge of construction gear, and proficiency with Site Sense and Excel.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in engineering, construction management, automotive or diesel college, or related field (preferred).
• Proven experience in equipment management or related field.
• Strong knowledge of construction equipment, maintenance procedures, and safety protocols.
• Excellent communication and collaboration skills to work effectively with cross-functional teams.
• Proficiency in using equipment management software and tools.

Responsibilities

• Sourcing and ordering equipment and materials.
• Checking equipment in and out.
• Maintaining accurate equipment tracking using Excel and other tracking programs.
• Assisting with inventory counts and audits.
• Submitting service requests and following up as needed.
• Supporting SiteSense usage and compliance.
• Coordinating equipment planning, ordering, and tracking post data upload in maintenance systems.
• Generate rental requisitions for owned equipment and 3rd party direct rentals.
• Manage the approved equipment plan through routine reviews.
• Schedule weekly utilization reviews of project equipment.
• Ensure cost reporting vs. forecasted costs by projects.
• Conduct visual inspections and capture images for equipment receiving/demobilization.
• Contact 3rd party vendors for off-rented equipment pickups.
