Job summary

Forbes Bros. Group of Companies is seeking an Environmental Specialist to support on-site construction teams, develop environmental plans, and ensure compliance with client requirements and environmental regulations across various power infrastructure projects in North America.

Reporting to senior environmental staff, you will train crews, document inspections, and collaborate with project management to implement corrective actions and maintain environmental integrity on active sites.

Qualifications

• Degree or diploma in Environmental, Agricultural or Biological Sciences or equivalent.
• 2+ years in Construction Industry or environmental field; Powerline Transmission preferred.
• Knowledge of provincial and federal regulations, codes, permits and approvals.
• Valid Driver's License and ability to travel to field/on-site.
• Willingness to travel and work hours flexible to project schedules.

Responsibilities

• Provide environmental support to on-site construction and project management teams.
• Develop and implement project environmental plans meeting client requirements and regulations.
• Evaluate compliance with customer standards and commitments (CEMPs, cultural/heritage plans, habitats, SWPPP, weed management, reclamation).
• Monitor site environmental issues and recommend corrective actions with environmental lead and construction manager.
• Document daily on-site environmental inspections with photographic log.
• Train employees and contractors on environmental awareness and controls.
• Collaborate with crews and client enviro representatives to meet requirements.
